The Idea

Hugo & Marie partnered with friends at Art & Motion to first craft the brand’s visual identity, and then direct and design their new digital experience. The brand’s identity employs a bold graphic strikethrough — a gesture combining “art” and “motion” in a literal sweep across both words. This element was leveraged across all brand collateral and throughout the website, from transitions to mixed typography, maintaining a dynamism that suggested the brand’s west coast youth and energy.
